US kills Al-Qaeda leader in Yemen

WASHINGTON: President Donald Trump said on Thursday that the United States had killed Qasim Remy, a leader of Al-Qaeda on the Arabian Peninsula, during a counter-terrorism operation in Yemen.

In a statement, Trump said, “Under Rimmy, AQAP committed unreasonable violence against Yemeni civilians and attempted to launch and inspire countless attacks on the United States and our forces,” Trump said in a statement. Said in the statement.

The United States views AQAP as one of the deadliest divisions of the al-Qaeda network established by Osama bin Laden.

Reports from Yemen show that Remy died in recent days in a drone attack in Malibu. Reuters could not verify the reports.

A Yemeni government official told Reuters that there was a drone attack in Malibu, but not that Remy was killed.
