Dr. Umer Farooq, CEO of Ayub Medical College in Abbottabad, said on Wednesday that the National Library of Medicine (NLM) has included Pakistan in these countries To cure the coronavirus pandemic.
In an interview with Earth News, Dr. Faruk said: “The US agency has approved a team of 20 members of medical institutions committed to obtaining treatment.”
He said: “They [NLM] praised the experts in Pakistan, and according to our qualifications, we were allowed to start testing the drug.” He said: “Initially, it will be divided into 3 groups of 25 people.”
He said: “The first group will be given two drugs, azithromycin and chloroquine.” He added that the second group will be given only chloroquine.
He said: “The third group will be treated with traditional medicine.”
He said that the population will be selected based on age and the severity of the disease. “Those with heart disease and major illnesses will not be selected.”
He added: “After the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) sends a green signal, a treatment for coronavirus can be found in the world.”
