Washington: The US presidential election was won in Michigan and Wisconsin with the support of Democrat Joe Biden at the beginning of Thursday. Georgia and Arizona are expected to announce their results today. This nail-biting game is getting closer.
All eyes are now on Georgia, Alaska, Arizona, Nevada, North Carolina and Pennsylvania where final counts are awaited. All eyes at the moment are on Arizona — which The Associated Press has called in Biden’s favour — yet the Trump campaign claims it can still win.
Pennsylvania had to suspend the calculation of the court agreement reported by CNN on Thursday, which involved approximately 29,000 disputed votes that were misprinted. The authorities will wait until 5 pm Eastern Time on November 6 before re-issuing ballots, and resume counting on Friday.
Trump’s lead in Georgia has been further reduced because the votes continue. An election official said in a brief media briefing that there are still more than 60,000 mailed ballots yet to be counted.
In the remaining battlefield states, balloting continues, where voters voted to avoid exposure to the coronavirus and sent a large number of mailed ballots, which made the job even more difficult.
Biden has steadily maintained the advantage of mailing votes.
