Washington: President Donald Trump and Democratic challenger Joe Biden are competing with the White House. Public opinion polls across the United States are gradually closed on Tuesday, and the long night awaits the upcoming results.
The initial results were tricky. The U.S. media expected the Republican Party to win in Indiana, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Tennessee and West Virginia so far-all state titles he won in 2016.
Biden occupied his hometown of Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, Vermont, Virginia, and New Jersey, as well as three electoral votes to the U.S. capital Washington (District of Columbia).
So far, Biden has received 57 electoral votes and Trump has received 42 votes. The magic number is 270. Observers predict that the fierce competition in the White House will be attributed to a few key battlefield states.
The following is a list of the states won by each candidate and the corresponding number of electoral votes, based on the projections of US media including CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, ABC, CBS and The New York Times.
West Virginia (5)
District of Columbia (3)
New Jersey (14)
