Three dead, 21 injured in Lahore’s Johar Town blast


Lahore: At least 3 people were killed and 21 others were injured when an explosion occurred in the Jowhar town area of ​​the city. The provincial police chief believed that the police were the target.

Soon after the explosion, rescue, police and bomb disposal teams arrived at the scene of the incident.

Witnesses said that the windows of nearby houses and buildings were shattered in the explosion. In addition, due to the intensity of the explosion, one of the buildings was severely damaged. Several cars parked near the building were also damaged.

So far, there are 21 injured people who have been transferred to Jinnah Hospital in Lahore for treatment via private cars and auto-rickshaws. The medical director of the hospital said that the three were injured during the treatment.

The management of Jinnah Hospital has asked people to come forward and donate blood for the wounded, adding that the wounded are being treated in the hospital.

A policeman, a woman and two children were injured in the explosion. The injured were in critical condition due to burns caused by the explosion.

The intensity of the explosion is so great that it can be heard even in distant places. However, the nature of the explosion has not yet been determined.

An eyewitness told Geographic News that an unidentified person parked a motorcycle near the house and an explosion later occurred.

The police have cordoned off the area for further investigation and traffic has been diverted.
