Tania Aidrus resigns from SAPM in Digital Pakistan (SAP)


Lahore: Tania Aidrus, special assistant to the Prime Minister of Digital Pakistan, has resigned due to dual citizenship.

Tania Aidrus, in a tweet said that criticism levied towards the state as a consequence of her citizenship status is clouding the purpose of Digital Pakistan. She added that in the greater public interest, she has submitted her resignation from the SAPM role.

In her resignation letter to Prime Minister Imran Khan, Tania said that she returned to Pakistan with the singular intent to contribute and develop the vision of a Digital Pakistan, a concept which PM have always voiced and she shared.

She added that the recent comments about Canadian citizenship in the public domain were the result of her birth rather than selection, which distracted her ability to realize Digital Pakistan’s long-term vision.

She also reiterated her determination to do her best to serve Pakistan and the Prime Minister through private and public sector initiatives.
