On Sunday, Spanish princess Maria Teresa of Bourbon Palma reportedly became the first royal family to die from a new corona virus.
The 86-year-old princess is the nephew of King Felipe VI of Spain. Her brother Duke of Aranjuez announced her death through a Facebook message. Her funeral will take place in Madrid on Friday.
“On this afternoon… our sister Maria Teresa de Borbon Parma and Borbon Busset, a victim of the coronavirus COVID-19, died in Paris at the age of eighty-six,” read the post.
Theresa was born on July 28, 1933 and became a professor at Sorbonne University and a professor of sociology at Complutense University in Madrid.
Known for her aggressiveness and insight, she is known as the ‘Red Princess’.
