Madrid: Official data from Saturday showed that Spain registered coronavirus-related deaths for the second day in a row.
Currently, the total number of deaths in Spain is 11,744, second only to Italy. A record 950 people died Thursday.
The number of new cases also decreased by 7,026 to 124,736.
The amount of recovery in the past 24 hours was 3,706, a total of 34,219.
The Madrid area is the worst affected area, accounting for 40% of deaths, 4,723 and 29% of cases, a total of 36,249. Northeast Catalonia is in second place with 2,508 deaths.
Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez will decide whether the emergency measures and the embargo announced on March 14 will be extended by two weeks in response to the outbreak.
