Islamabad: A local court in Islamabad has summoned Cynthia Dawn Ritchie, a U.S. national living in Pakistan, who has led the Pakistan People’s Party, including former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto People have made harsh allegations.
At other meetings, Judge Ata Rabbani heard a petition from Shakeel Abbasi, President of PPP Islamabad, to file a lawsuit against Cynthia Ritchie, the duty judge.
The plaintiff’s position is that American women defame Benazir Bhutto through unfounded allegations, and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) opposes a lawsuit against Cynthia Dawn Ritchie.
FIA lawyers argued that it should be determined whether the claimant was an affected party. Judge Ata Rabbani stated that it was the responsibility of the court to determine the matter.
The court summoned the response from the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) and issued a notice to American nationals asking them to appear in person or to send a lawyer to appear in the next hearing. The case was postponed until June 13.
