Karachi: Sindh Province reported on Thursday that there were more than 1,000 COVID-19 cases in a single day, and four more patients died of death, raising the death toll to 4,633.
Giving a daily briefing on COVID-19, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that 14,633 samples were tested which detected 1060 cases that constituted a 7.2 percent current detection rate. He added that so far 3,621,994 tests have been conducted against which 282,444 cases were diagnosed, of them 94 percent or 264,052 patients have recovered, including 279 overnight.
The province’s mortality rate reached 1.7%.
Murad Ali Shah said that there are currently 13,759 patients receiving treatment, of which 13,149 are in home isolation, of which 7 are in isolation centers, and 603 are in different hospitals. He added that 570 patients were in critical condition, including 47 who had changed their ventilators.
The statement said that of the 1,060 new cases, 394 cases were found from Karachi, including 196 cases in the east, 99 cases in the south, 49 cases in the middle, 26 cases in Mariel, 19 cases in Korangi and 5 cases in the west.
