Karachi: The Sindh provincial government imposed a 30-day ban on Karachi on Sunday, citing reports that killings in the city may increase and further disrupt public order.
According to a notice issued by the Ministry of the Interior, the ban has taken effect immediately. The notice also said: “Another Karachi IG has reported that there are some reports that immoral and dissatisfied elements may interfere with peace and create law and order problems in Karachi.”
It added that criminals may commit targeted killings and were banned because “recently there have been reports of several grenade explosions in the city and targeted killings of law enforcement personnel and religious scholars. “.
The Ministry of the Interior stated that this ban does not apply to women, children under 12, senior citizens, law enforcement agencies/uniformed security agency personnel, basic service personnel, and reporter cards/service cards that need to show news.
