Sindh govt announces to block SIM cards of unvaccinated citizens

Karachi: The Sindh Provincial Government has decided to block the SIM cards of all citizens who refuse to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.

On Monday, Sindh’s Minister of Information Said Nasir Hussain Shah announced the news at a media briefing in Karachi.

He insisted that the provincial government is taking measures to ensure that every citizen is vaccinated against Covid-19.

Shah also warned that the salaries of government employees who did not vaccinate themselves against the coronavirus will be stopped.

He added that unless government employees are vaccinated against COVID-19, they will not be promoted.

Nasir Shah said that the Chief Minister took note of the report on the issuance of vaccine certificates without immunization procedures and instructed Sindh Province and the Ministry of Interior to take severe actions against the persons concerned.

Urging people to get themselves vaccinated, Nasir Hussain Shah said that the vaccine is an effective weapon for prevention against the deadly virus.

Earlier, the Punjab government had decided to block SIM cards of all those citizens who refuse to get themselves vaccinated against the novel coronavirus.

The decision was taken at a meeting presided over by health minister Dr Yasmin Rashid at the Punjab Civil Secretariat last week.
