Shehbaz to hold party meeting to clarify support for Army Act Bill

London: President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Shehbaz Sharif has convened a workers’ meeting to clarify the party’s unconditional support for changes to the military law.

According to sources from PML-N, Shehbaz Sharif contacted senior party leaders to eliminate reservations and anger among party workers about unconditional support for military operations without prior consultation.

He instructed party leaders to organize workers’ conferences to remove reservations for party workers and members of parliament.

He also instructed leaders to inform workers that the purpose of supporting the amended bill is to strengthen the army, and PML-N thwarted the government’s attempts to make the army controversial. PML-N stands with its narrative of “vote ko izzat do”.
