Islamabad: The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered 1,949 new companies in July 2021, bringing the total number of registered companies to 147,842. About 99% of companies registered online, 43% of companies registered on the same day, and 175 foreign users registered from overseas.
Companies established in July include 66% of private limited companies, 31% of single member companies, and 3% of public non-listed companies, non-profit associations, and limited liability partnerships (LLPs). The total capital (paid-in capital) newly registered this month is 2.7 billion rupees.
Leading in the construction and real estate industry, with 313 registered companies, 279 trading companies, 243 IT companies, 178 service companies, 117 e-commerce companies, 76 food and beverage companies, 63 education companies, 57 textile companies, 56 companies and agriculture companies, Pharmaceutical 52, engineering 51, tourism 40, healthcare 39, mining and quarrying 38, transportation and marketing and development 27 each, logging and power generation 24 each, automobile and related industries, 23 fuel and energy, 21 chemical and communications , 18 cable electrical appliances, 14 radio and television, cosmetics and toiletries, 13 paper and cardboard, steel and related industries, and 85 other registered enterprises.
47 new companies reported foreign investment. The foreign investors of these companies come from Australia, Bermuda, China, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Italy, South Korea, Kuwait, the Netherlands, Oman, the Philippines, Qatar, Russia, Sri Lanka, Syria, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States.
The number of companies registered in Islamabad is the largest with 645 companies, followed by companies registered in Lahore and Karachi with 634 and 294 respectively. The CROs of Peshawar, Multan, Faisalabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Quetta and Sukkur registered 120, 96, 75, 57, 22 and 06 companies respectively.
