Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan rejected the Sindh Provincial Government’s request for the acquittal of Daniel Pearl in the case.
As per details, Supreme Court heard the petition filed by parents of murdered journalist Danial Pearl and Sindh government. During the hearing, counsel of the provincial government requested the court to suspend the Sindh High Court’s decision otherwise problems may arise for the government.
On the other hand, counsel of the accused argued that his clients are in jail for last 19 years and despite SHC’s April 2 order, they are under illegal detention.
The court rejected the request to release the defendant and adjourned the hearing to the first week of December.
