SC refuses to seek restoration of Arshad Malik as CEO of PIA

By

Islamabad: the Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected a request to rank Mars Arshad Marek as CEO of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

The Supreme Court has heard cases in connection with the ruling of the Sindh High Court (SHC), which excludes Arshad Malik from the work. The Supreme Court allows airlines to perform their duties.

In addition, the Standards Committee convened details of the SHC, which previously prevented Arshad Malik from processing a petition from SSA Secretary-General Safdar Anjum.

The claimant argues that Arshad Malik did not meet the eligibility criteria for the PIA CEO and that he had no previous experience working with airlines.

SHC also blocked decisions, new recruitments, relocation and dismissal of employees, and asset sales worth more than Rs 100 crore in the judgment.
