Islamabad: According to media reports, South Korean multinational technology company Samsung Electronics is cooperating with local partners to set up a TV manufacturing plant in Karachi.
Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood confirmed the news. “I have been informed that Samsung will soon start production of televisions,” he tweeted.
This proves the “Made in Pakistan” policy of the Ministry of Commerce to promote industrialization by rationalizing input costs and other incentives. Mr. Dawood said that the plant will be put into use in the fourth quarter of 2021 and is expected to produce 50,000 units per year.
Samsung’s local partner R&R Industries CEO Moussa announced that the company plans to set up a manufacturing plant for the Samsung TV series in Pakistan.
