Safdar moves petition in IHC for foolproof security

Islamabad: Muhammad Safdar Awan, son-in-law of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, moved a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday seeking foolproof security.

He named the Ministry of Interior as the defendant, and he asked the IHC to instruct him to contact KPK, Punjab, Sindh and IGP in Islamabad to provide foolproof security when he travels to different parts of the country.

Safdar Awan stated he faces life threats as he was previously attacked in Lahore when he was accompanying his wife Maryam Nawaz to the NAB headquarters for the latter’s hearing in a graft case.

He said that he often travels across the country with his wife, participates in Pakistani Democracy Movement (PDM) rallies, and participates in the hearings of different cases against him, for which he needs foolproof security.
