Karachi: The exchange rate of US Dollar increased by 19 paisa in the interbank on Tuesday against Pakistani rupee.
The US dollar closed at 158.37 rupees on the second working day of the week, compared with the previous closing price of 158.18 rupees.
Since the beginning of July, the U.S. dollar has appreciated by 50 paisa. However, the U.S. dollar has fallen by 10.06 rupees or 6.16% of its value from its peak of 168.43 in August 2020.
At the same time, the price of the euro fell by 14 paisa to close at 187.62 rupees, while the last working day transaction price reported by the National Bank of Pakistan was 187.76 rupees.
The Japanese Yen closed at Rs1.43, whereas an increase of 32 paisa was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs219.44 as compared to its last closing of Rs219.12.
The exchange rates of the UAE dirham and the Saudi riyal rose by about 6 paisa, respectively, to close at 43.12 rupees and 42.23 rupees.
