ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will take place on Thursday evening to sight the moon of Ramadan, said a spokesperson of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The chairman of the committee, Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman, will chair the meeting held at the Pakistan Meteorological Agency (PMD) office in Karachi.
The spokesman said that the regional committee meeting will be held at the provincial headquarters.
The spokesman said that the Islamabad Zone Committee will meet at the Kossar Federation.
At the same time, the Pakistan Meteorological Department said that Ramadan will appear in Pakistan on April 24, which means that the first fast will be observed on April 25.
The Bureau of Meteorology said that on April 23, the moon will be at a 5 degree angle on the horizon, so it cannot be seen with the naked eye. It will be visible the next day.
Earlier this month, Federal Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry stated that according to the lunar calendar, Ramadan will appear on April 24, which is the first Ramadan on April 25.
