Lahore: Rain accompanied by strong wind lashed Lahore and other cities across the country in the wee hours of Friday. The rain just before Sehri time in Lahore turned the weather pleasant.
As more than 160 feeders of the Lahore Electricity Supply Company (LESCO) tripped, rain interrupted Lahore’s electricity and plunged the entire city into darkness.
Rain was also reported in different other cities of country including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Narowal, Shorkot, Chiniot, Minchanabad, Pakpattan, Karak and several other cities.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist till Friday.
The Bureau of Meteorology predicts that most of the country’s plains will experience dry weather in the next 24 hours. However, in the morning, there will be showers of thunderstorms in Punjab, Kashmir and northeastern Gilgit Bartstan.
