Islamabad: the Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly, Muhammad Qasim Khan Suri, will be the speaker from today (December 22) until the return of speaker Asad Qaiser who has traveled to Saudi Arabia for an official visit.
According to a press release from the National Assembly on Sunday, the vice-president will act as a speaker in accordance with Article 53 (3) of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The Secretariat of the National Assembly has notified this.
Speaker Asad Qaiser and the parliamentary delegation made an official visit to Saudi Arabia. The speaker is here at the invitation of Dr. Abdullah Bin Mohammed Sheikh, president of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The delegation besides meeting with the Chairman Shura Council, will call on Khadim Al-Haramayn Al-Sharifyan and other Members of the Saudi Ruling hierarchy and Pakistani expatriates.
