Punjab reports first death, nation-wide tally of confirmed coronavirus cases rises to 918


Punjab reported on Tuesday that the first case of coronavirus deaths in the province has risen to 918 patients across the country.

According to Yasmin Rashid, the provincial health minister, the patient was a 57-year-old patient and was taken to Mayo Hospital. She again called on the public to stay indoors and prevent further transmission of the virus.

The next day, after new cases were reported in Punjab and Sindh, the number of confirmed new cases of coronavirus in the country increased to 908.

The Punjab Health Service tweeted that the province confirmed 267 cases after 16 new cases were reported.

176 of them were classified as a breakdown, pilgrims returning from Iran. Lahore remains the most affected city in the province, with 59 new cases.

The department reported 12 cases in Gujrat, 7 cases in Gujranwala, 3 cases in Jhelum and 2 cases in Rawalpindi and Multan.

Sargodha, Faisalabad, Madi Bahuddin and Rahim Yar Khan have reported only one case in their city.

To date, Sindh remains the country most affected by the coronavirus, with a total of 407 cases of coronavirus. In Karachi alone, the number of cases of the virus is 130, and most are “locally transmitted” cases.
