Lahore: The Punjab government announced on Friday that it will launch random coronavirus tests in the province to combat the spread of the virus.
The provincial government announced on Twitter that it now has the possibility to perform 4,200 tests per day.
Punjab reported another 25 cases of coronavirus on Friday, totaling 3,301.
According to the first and second medical departments, one more person died in COVID-19 in the province.
There were 36 COVID-19 deaths in Punjab.
Earlier on Thursday, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar announced that the province has achieved the capacity of conduction over 42, 00 coronavirus diagnostic tests daily.
Usman Buzdar said in a tweet that they will soon be able to run 10,000 tests per day, adding that they will run random tests in Lahore.
He insisted that the upgrade of four new labs be completed.
