ISLAMABAD: Singer-cum-politician Abrar-ul-Haq has been appointed as the new chairman of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) today (Nov 15).
President Arif Alvi approved the appointment of the Pakistani Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, also known as Hilal Ahmar. The National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Department has issued a notice regarding the appointment of Abrar.
Abrar-ul-Haq has served for three years. It is worth noting that Abrar-ul-Haq has extensive experience in dealing with natural disasters and is the first human rights ambassador for the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Saeed Elahi was chairman of the PRCS before he was fired.
