Protesters set several shops vehicles ablaze in Bahria town Karachi


Police and residents said hundreds of protesters attacked the town of Bahria in Karachi on Sunday and set fire to several shops and vehicles of the Housing Association.

A large number of protesters sit-in outside the housing society near the super highway.

They are protesting what they say is forcibly expelling them from nearby ancestral lands.

A large number of police officers dealt with any unpleasant situations at the scene, while the management of Barea Town blocked the entrance with containers.

But the protesters broke through the blocked gate and entered the housing society.

According to an eyewitness, the places where the protesters burned included Suzuki car showrooms and fast food restaurants.

Another resident, who asked not to be named, said the protesters robbed at least two ATMs.

After some time, the police managed to disperse the protesters.
