Islamabad: President Dr. Arif Alvi visited the Capitol on Monday to review the arrangements for the upcoming budget meeting.
Dr. Arif Alvi called for the appropriate implementation of standard operating procedures (SOP) against coronaviruses in the Capitol during the upcoming budget meeting.
When the President visited the Capitol to review the budget meeting arrangements, he emphasized that effective steps should be taken in the upper and lower houses to curb the spread of COVID-19 during important meetings.
The President has called a Senate meeting on June 5, which coincides with the National Assembly budget meeting that has already been held on the same day.
At the budget meeting, the president urged to take necessary measures, such as alienating society, wearing masks and washing hands frequently.
Dr. Alvi said that this will also communicate effective information to the public that its representatives have taken appropriate preventive measures to prevent the virus.
He emphasized the use of appropriate SOPs for media coverage both in the media library and outside the Capitol building, and suggested that journalists be provided with video link options.
The president said that he is monitoring the country for coronavirus cases every day, and has seen a surge in confirmed cases and deaths in recent days.
Dr. Alvi emphasized that the country has made concerted efforts to effectively combat the coronavirus pandemic.
