Islamabad: President Dr. Arif Alvi called a meeting of the National Assembly on Tuesday and held a meeting at the Capitol on Monday (May 11) at 3:00 PM.
A press release issued by the Secretariat of the National Assembly said that the President summoned the National Assembly to exercise the powers granted by Article 54 (1) of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
This session will be the twenty-first session of the current National Assembly.
Earlier on May 4, at a meeting of parliamentary leaders chaired by Syed Fakhar Imam, it was decided to hold a National Assembly meeting on Monday (May 11) at the Capitol.
Congressional Foreign Minister Shah Mohamed Quresi said in a conversation with the media after the meeting of the Congress leaders that he had decided to hold a meeting of the National Assembly on Monday (May 11) at 3 pm
He said that the duration of the non-applicable session is one and a half hours to two hours. The special meeting will only be related to COVID-19, during which questions, privilege motions and adjournment motions will not be interrupted.
Qureshi said that the meeting also decided not to indicate a quorum during the meeting, adding that, except for news galleries, no other tourist galleries are open.
The foreign minister said that efforts will also be made to reach consensus on the budget meeting.
