LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Sunday said that the government was taking practical measures for improving the living standard of people.
He said that the public sector and institutions are undergoing reforms based on modern requirements and that government initiatives will have positive results.
Sardar Usman Buzdar said that Punjab is subject to change and that it will become a model province in the change process. He added that the culture that had previously eliminated the use of the Treasury for personal purposes had been eliminated.
He said the former ruler used state resources for display and personal projection.
He said that public offices now adopt a culture of austerity. He added that during the election campaign the costs of CM Office were reduced by 60%. He said the PTI government laid the foundation for the province’s corruption-free society and justice.
He said there had been huge corruption scandals during the previous regime. The Pakistani government of Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is proud that no corruption scandals have taken place in the last year and a half.
He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the threat of corruption in Pakistan would be limited.
