The police arrested former JUI leader Mufti Aziz ur Rehman and his son from Mianwali for their involvement in a sexual abuse case.
A video featuring Rehman as the protagonist went viral on social media, in which he can be seen sexually abusing a seminary student.
The student once said that Rehman sexually abused him, and the clergy’s sons began to blackmail him and threatened to kill him.
“If justice is not done, I will commit suicide,” the survivor had said.
Rahman and his sons fled after the police opened a case and conducted a raid to arrest the suspect.
The head of the religious school where Rahman works has stated that the priest has been fired after the video went viral on the Internet.
Superintendent Asadullah Farooq has stated that Rehman and his sons have been asked to leave the Islamic school and the agency is not responsible for any of their actions.
