Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected to discuss a rescue package with his economic team on Tuesday, as an outbreak of the corona virus in the country announces an upcoming financial crisis.
The source said the prime minister will discuss this topic with members of his economic team later today and will then announce the rescue package to the public.
During the meeting, officials will develop plans to assist the poor and vulnerable groups of society most affected by the pandemic. The plan is also aimed at day wage workers.
The Prime Minister and his team will also discuss ways to provide home users with government electricity and gas subsidies and consider providing a rescue package of Rs 200 for exporters.
Economy Minister Hamad Hazard said on Monday that an aid and stimulus package will be announced on Tuesday.
The federal minister said that the prime minister’s cabinet, members of the cabinet and representatives of several ministries have worked hard to finalize proposals for an upcoming package.
He told the media in Lahore on Monday that they have worked tirelessly in recent days to make recommendations and make decisions.
