PM Imran to announce Karachi Transformation Plan today


Karachi: Prime Minister Imran Khan will arrive in Karachi today (Saturday) for a one-day visit. During this period, he will announce the Karachi transformation plan for the rain-infested city.

Prime Minister Imran will spend a busy day in Karachi. Soon after arriving in the city, Prime Minister Imran Khan will move to the Governor’s Mansion, where he will chair the Karachi Transformation Committee meeting. He will also deliver a speech at a press conference at the Governor’s Palace.

According to sources, Prime Minister Imran will also hold a meeting with Pierre Said Sadaruddin Sha Rashidi at the Governor’s Palace. He also plans to visit the Pakistan Stock Exchange. Prime Minister Imran will also hold meetings with industrialists and businessmen during his stay.

The Prime Minister will also meet the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM Pakistan) delegation led by Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui while Federal Minister Aminul Haq and Faisal Subzwari will be the other members.

The Pakistan MQM delegation will discuss the Karachi transformation plan during the meeting with the Prime Minister. The source also informed that the Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) delegation will also meet with Prime Minister Imran during its visit to Karachi.

According to sources, the Prime Minister will announce more than 50 Karachi projects in accordance with the Karachi transformation plan. According to sources, Rs 802 billion will be spent on development projects under the Karachi Transformation Plan.

The 3,000 crore Karachi Circular Railway project will also be part of the transformation plan. The Chinese government will provide 250 billion rupees for the circular railway.

The source said that 447.45 billion rupees will be used for public transportation system projects. According to the plan, six public transportation system projects will be announced, while road construction and maintenance projects are estimated at 623.0 billion rupees.
