Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan was recommended to undergo a coronavirus test after meeting with social workers and the head of the Eddie Foundation Faisal Edhi last week.
Faisal Edhi, the son of the late philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi and chairman of the Edhi Foundation, met with Khan last week and presented him with a cheque of Rs 10 crore for the Corona Relief Fund.
Faisal Sultan, Khan ’s personal doctor and CEO of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital, said he will meet with the prime minister and advise him to be examined. He said: “We will abide by all agreements and make corresponding recommendations.”
The protocol recommends self-quarantine for those who test positive for coronavirus.
Pakistan reported on Tuesday that another 16 people died of coronavirus, bringing the country ’s death toll to 192, while the number of diagnosed surged to more than 9,000.
It is not clear how Khan will manage the government if Khan is asked to be isolated.
Khan is currently doing business as usual and also presided over the cabinet meeting.
