PM Imran accepts Nadeem Afzal Chan’s resignation

Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has accepted the resignation of his Special Assistant on Parliamentary Relations Nadeem Afzal Chan. The Cabinet Division has also issued a notification in this regard.

According to sources, some ministers in the cabinet, including Fawad Chowdhury, Schilling Mazari and Ali Zadi, have asked the prime minister not to accept the resignation of Nadem Afzal Chen.

According to sources, Nadeem Afzal Chan had tendered his resignation to the Prime Minister after differences arose with government on many issues. In addition, Nadeem Afzal Chan was critical of the Prime Minister’s late visit to the victims of the Machh tragedy.

He expressed his helplessness in a statement on a social networking site on January 8, saying, “I’m ashamed over the bodies of these helpless labourers.”

Sources said that the Prime Minister also had reservations over some of his remarks due to which there was tension between the two.

It is also said that as a spokesman, Nadeem Afzal Chan never met the PM’s expectations even when it came to criticizing other politicians.
