Islamabad: It is reported that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has proposed to increase the prices of petroleum products from September 1.
According to sources, it has been proposed to increase gasoline prices by 7 rupees per liter and diesel prices by 8 rupees per liter. OGRA also proposed to increase the prices of kerosene and light diesel.
According to reports, OGRA proposes to increase the gasoline tax to 30 rupees per liter, while the current tax rate is 26.70 rupees per liter.
The current diesel price includes an oil tax of 25.73 rupees per liter. If the government decides not to increase the current oil tax rate, the prices of gasoline and diesel will rise by Rs 3.75.
The final decision on the price adjustment of petroleum products every two weeks will be made by the Ministry of Finance after consultation with the Prime Minister before the beginning of September.
