A source told on Saturday that the price of petroleum products may soar again after February 15.
The source said that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (OGRA) has sent a summary of the revised rates to the oil department.
The source said that OGRA’s recommended rate is 30 rupees per liter, and it is proposed to increase the gasoline price by 16 rupees per liter.
In the summary forwarded by OGRA, diesel is recommended to be priced at Rs14.75 per litre more expensive, the sources said.
They added that currently a petroleum levy of Rs21.04 is in effect besides a levy of Rs22.11 per litre for diesel.
Last month, early February, gasoline prices rose by 2.70 rupees per liter.
