Islamabad: The Prime Minister (Imran Khan) said on Wednesday that past leaders have become role models for taking the wrong path.
Addressing a ceremony of police passing out parade at Police Lines in Islamabad, the premier said that children of corrupt leaders are telling lies to protect their fathers. Looted money will never help them, he added.
The prime minister further said that police have a pivotal role in uplift of the country by creating sense of security among its citizens. A peaceful environment builds trust of investors to make investments, he stated.
Imran Khan said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has changed traditional police culture and now, people give the security officers respect.
He also announced the provision of medical card facilities for the police in Islamabad.
The Prime Minister said that the government has made major economic achievements by converting the country’s current account surplus into a surplus for the fifth consecutive month after 17 years.
He told the government that, given the country’s debt, the government has been pursuing policy-controlled spending, and the prime minister’s office has also reduced spending by 60%.
