Islamabad: Although the Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government of Pakistan has spoken loudly, as of the week of May 6, the weekly inflation rate based on the Sensitive Price Index (SPI) has increased by 0.50% compared with the total consumer group. last week.

According to the latest data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Friday, the SPI in the above group’s review this week recorded 149.01 points, compared with 148.27 points the previous week.

Compared with the same period last year, the SPI of the comprehensive consumer group this week increased by 17.05%.

The weekly SPI of the base year 2015-16 = 100 covers 51 basic items in 17 urban centers and all expenditure categories.

The sensitive price indicator of the lowest consumer group rose to 17732 rupees, an increase of 0.37%, from 159.19 points last week to 159.78 points reviewed this week.

At the same time, SPI for consumer groups starts from Rs 17732-22888; Rs22,889-29,517; Rs 44,175 per month for Rs 29,518-44,175 and above increases by 0.48%, 0.51%, 0.56% and 0.48% respectively.

During the week, the prices of 07 items dropped, the prices of 18 items increased, and the prices of 26 items remained unchanged.

Commodities whose average prices have fallen include eggs, LPG cylinders, onions, potatoes, gram beans, mozzarella and garlic.

The commodities, which recorded increase in their average prices, included chicken, bananas, wheat flour, mustard oil, beef, gur, sugar, mutton, bread, curd, toilet soap, tomatoes, moong pulse, shirting, milk (fresh), mash pulse, milk (powdered) and vegetable ghee (tin)The commodities that observed no change in prices during the week under review included rice (Basmati broken), rice (Irri 6/9), cooking oil (loose), vegetable ghee (loose), salt, chilies, tea (packet), cooked beef, cooked daal, tea (prepared), cigarettes, long cloth, lawn, georgette, gents sandal, gents chappal, ladies sandal, electricity charges, gas charges, firewood, energy saver, washing soap, match box, petrol, diesel and telephone call charges.
