FAISALABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi stated that Pakistan will be removed from the FATF grey list.
The Foreign Minister said that maintaining the status of GSP plus lobbying has already begun. He said that this time there will be good news about FATF.
Shah Mahmood visited Faisalabad Industrial Zone and Management Company (FIEDMC), M3 Industrial City and Alama Iqbal Industrial City. He appreciated the efforts of FIEDMC Chairman Kashif Ashfaq and pledged his full cooperation.
The minister said that foreign embassies will provide full support to FIEDMC to invest in the economic zone. In countries where FIEDMC needs to contact investors, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide them with full support. He added that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has set up a separate economic department to attract investment.
FM Qureshi said that full attention should be paid to research to overcome the decline in cotton production.
He said that FIEDMC plans to establish an agricultural-based economic zone on 1,500 acres of land in Toba Tek Singh, which is the best step for agricultural development. The minister said: “This will bring equal benefits to farmers in Multan, Khanewal, Sargodha and Faisalabad.”
