Pakistan sees highest number of daily coronavirus cases since August

LAHORE: Pakistan has reported 12 deaths in last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 327,063. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 6,727.

According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 847 people have tested positive for COVID-19 within 24 hours.

In terms of individual cases, Sindh is still the province most affected by the pandemic, followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.

Till now 143,222 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 102,467 in Punjab, 38,923 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 18,764 in Islamabad, 15,791 in Balochistan, 3,748 in Azad Kashmir and 4,148 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore 2,594 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Sindh, 2,334 in Punjab, 1,268 in KP, 148 in Balochistan, 207 in Islamabad, 90 in GB and 86 in Azad Kashmir.

Pakistan has so far conducted 4,235,329 coronavirus tests and 31,009 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 310,101 coronavirus patients, and another 586 patients are in critical condition.
