Lahore: Pakistan has reported 47 new coronavirus deaths in the past 24 hours, and the number of positive cases has soared to 528,891. Last Friday, the nationwide death toll jumped to 11,204.
According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 1,745 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
In terms of cases, Sindh remains the province most affected by the pandemic, followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Punjab province is reported to have the highest number of casualties.
Till now 239,186 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 152,158 in Punjab, 64,651 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 18,696 in Balochistan, 40,548 in Islamabad, 8,753 in Azad Kashmir and 4,899 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Furthermore 4,523 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 3,855 in Sindh, 1,823 in KP, 192 in Balochistan, 461 in Islamabad, 248 in Azad Kashmir and 102 in GB.
Pakistan has so far conducted 7,561,977 coronavirus tests and 35,839 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 482,771 coronavirus patients, while 2,362 patients are in critical condition.
