Pakistan reports 4,619 coronavirus cases, 79 deaths in 24 hours


Lahore: As the number of positive cases soared to 1,089,913, Pakistan has reported 79 deaths from the new coronavirus in the past 24 hours. The death toll across the country has jumped to 24,266 on Friday.

According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 4,619 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Details of each province

In terms of death toll, Punjab province remains the most affected province, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

So far, 11,307 people have died from the epidemic in Punjab, 6,355 in Sindh, 4,624 in KP, 827 in Islamabad, 660 in Azad Kashmir, 332 in Balochistan, and 161 in the United Kingdom.

In addition, Sindh has confirmed 407,892 coronavirus cases, Punjab 369,358, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 150,708, Islamabad, 92,768, Balochistan, 31,396, Azad Kashmir, 28,654, and Gil Gitstan Province 9,137.

Test and restore

To date, Pakistan has conducted 16,735,031 coronavirus tests and 59,504 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 979,411 patients, while 4,656 patients are in critical condition.
