LAHORE: Pakistan has reported 45 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 514,338. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 10,863 on Friday.
According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), in the past 24 hours, 2,417 people have tested positive for COVID-19.
In terms of cases, Sindh remains the province most affected by the pandemic, followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. The number of casualties in Punjab has exceeded that in Sindh.
Till now 231,953 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 147,953 in Punjab, 62,719 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 18,515 in Balochistan, 39,749 in Islamabad, 8,567 in Azad Kashmir and 4,882 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Furthermore 4,370 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 3,755 in Sindh, 1,762 in KP, 189 in Balochistan, 449 in Islamabad, 237 in Azad Kashmir and 101 in GB.
Pakistan has so far conducted 7,284,009 coronavirus tests and 40,359 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 469,306 coronavirus patients, while 2,294 patients are in critical condition.
