Pakistan reports 4,213 coronavirus cases, 79 deaths in 24 hours


LAHORE: Pakistan has reported 79 new coronavirus deaths in the past 24 hours due to a surge in positive cases to 834,146. On Monday, the death toll across the country jumped to 18,149.

According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 4,213 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Provincial details

In terms of the number of deaths and the number of cases, Punjab is still the most affected province, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 8,572 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,667 in Sindh, 3,392 in KP, 691 in Islamabad, 483 in Azad Kashmir, 237 in Balochistan, and 107 in GB.

Furthermore 306,929 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 285,626 in Sindh, 120,064 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 76,209 in Islamabad, 22,620 in Balochistan, 17,371 in Azad Kashmir and 5,327 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 11,928,095 coronavirus tests and 45,954 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 728,044 patients and 5,377 patients in critical condition.
