LAHORE: Pakistan has reported 88 deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, and the number of positive cases has soared to 897,468. The death toll nationwide on Saturday has jumped to 20,177.
According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 4,007 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
In terms of the number of deaths and the number of cases, Punjab is still the most affected province, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Till now 9,739 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,891 in Sindh, 3,900 in KP, 744 in Islamabad, 526 in Azad Kashmir, 270 in Balochistan, and 107 in GB.
Furthermore 333,057 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 306,707 in Sindh, 129,013 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 80,156 in Islamabad, 24,413 in Balochistan, 18,651 in Azad Kashmir and 5,471 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Pakistan has so far conducted 12,717,235 coronavirus tests and 62,238 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 813,855 patients and 4,412 patients in critical condition.
