Pakistan passes grim milestone of 21,000 deaths by COVID-19

Pakistan reports 3,447 coronavirus cases, 78 deaths in 24 hours


Lahore: Pakistan has reported 78 deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, and the number of positive cases has soared to 861,473. On Monday, the nationwide death toll jumped to 18,993.

According to the latest data released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 3447 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Provincial details

In terms of the number of deaths and the number of cases, Punjab is still the most affected province, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

319,365 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 292,644 in Sindh, 124,484 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 78,200 in Islamabad, 23,447 in Balochistan, 17,945 in Azad Kashmir and 5,388 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pakistan has so far conducted 12,228,42 coronavirus tests and 37,756 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 762,105 patients, while the critical condition is 4,846 patients.

The recorded COVID positive rate was 9.12%.
