Pakistan reports 2,607 coronavirus cases, 21 deaths in 24 hours


Lahore: Pakistan has reported 21 deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, as the number of positive cases has soared to 989,275. On Sunday, the national death toll jumped to 22,781.

According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 2,607 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

Details of each province

In terms of death toll, Punjab province remains the most affected province, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Till now 10,871 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 5,702 in Sindh, 4,385 in KP, 787 in Islamabad, 601 in Azad Kashmir, 319 in Balochistan, and 116 in GB.

Furthermore 350,259 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 355,462 in Punjab, 140,560 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 84,563 in Islamabad, 29,080 in Balochistan, 21,989 in Azad Kashmir and 7,362 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

To date, Pakistan has performed 15,393,974 coronavirus tests and 48,816 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 919,163 patients, while 2,508 patients are in critical condition.
