Pakistan reports 2,517 coronavirus cases, 48 deaths in 24 hours


LAHORE: Pakistan has reported 48 deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, and the number of positive cases has soared to 873,220. Last Friday, the death toll across the country jumped to 19,384.

According to the latest data released by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), in the past 24 hours, 2,517 people have tested positive for COVID-19.

Provincial details

In terms of the number of deaths and the number of cases, Punjab is still the most affected province, followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

324,106 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 296,364 in Sindh, 126,403 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 78,969 in Islamabad, 23,778 in Balochistan, 18,186 in Azad Kashmir and 5,414 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

To date, Pakistan has conducted 12,380,676 coronavirus tests, and 30,700 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours. The country has recovered 780,438 patients and 4,330 patients in critical condition.
