Pakistan reports 2,258 COVID-19 new cases, highest since February


Pakistan has reported 53 deaths from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours, and the number of positive cases surged to 597,497. On Wednesday, the death toll across the country jumped to 13,377.

According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), in the past 24 hours, 2,258 people have tested positive for COVID-19.

Provincial details

In terms of individual cases, Sindh is still the province most affected by the pandemic, followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.

Till now 260,406 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 180,944 in Punjab 74,722 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 46,579 in Islamabad, 19,157 in Balochistan, 10,730 in Azad Kashmir and 4,959 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Furthermore 5,662 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 4,448 in Sindh, 2,129 in KP, 516 in Islamabad, 316 in Azad Kashmir, 202 in Balochistan, and 104 in GB.

Pakistan has so far conducted 9,360,202 coronavirus tests and 42,164 tests in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 566,493 coronavirus patients, while 1,688 are in critical condition.
