Lahore: Pakistan has reported 140 deaths from the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, and the number of positive cases has soared to 850,131. Last Friday, the death toll across the country jumped to 18,677.
According to the latest data from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), 4,298 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
In terms of cases and deaths, Punjab is still the province most affected by the pandemic, followed by Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Till now 314,517 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Punjab, 289,646 in Sindh, 122,520 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 23,016 in Balochistan, 77,414 in Islamabad, 17,660 in Azad Kashmir and 5,358 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Furthermore, 8,891 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab, 4,698 in Sindh, 3,537 in KP, 243 in Balochistan, 702 in Islamabad, 499 in Azad Kashmir and 107 in GB.
Pakistan has so far conducted 12,101,832 coronavirus tests and 44,846 times in the past 24 hours. The country has recovered 747,755 coronavirus patients, while 5,177 patients are in critical condition.
